Tampa International Airport will unveil its new security scanners next week.
The scanners, which can view underneath clothes, have been controversial and opponents say the scanners are a violation of privacy.
The machines are designed to reveal hidden explosives and weapons. Passengers will be randomly selected for the screening. Those selected have the option for a pat-down instead.
The "millimeter wave" machines use harmless electromagnetic waves to create a murky image that shows hidden explosives and weapons, both metal and nonmetallic.
The machines are expected to debut on October 25.
