The plans for a restoration of the draft (now called by its kinder, gentler name, "national service") have been quietly been put in place in congress for some time now.
There are a number of bills which have been "sleeping" in congressional committees, and will come for a vote when congress thinks it can get the American people to buy into it.
And this time, these bills will not only be coming for your sons; they will be coming for your daughters also.
Some of these bills are written in such a way that young people cannot get into college until they can prove that they have fulfilled their national service obligations.
