Uh huh

Last week, while the media focused almost obsessively on the DNC's spectacle in Denver, the country's most influential conservatives met quietly at a hotel in downtown Minneapolis to get to know Sarah Palin. The assembled were members of the Council for National Policy, an ultra-secretive cabal that networks wealthy right-wing donors together with top conservative operatives to plan long-term movement strategy

They claim the McCain campaign was informed last week.

Senior McCain campaign officials said McCain knew of the daughter's pregnancy when he selected Palin last week as his vice presidential running mate, deciding that it did not disqualify the 44-year-old governor in any way.

But no one thought it relevant to tell Palin's own spokesman. Uh huh. From TPM Election Central:

The Daily News had asked Palin's press secretary, Bill McAllister, over the weekend to address rumors that Bristol was pregnant.

Folks, just look at the photos. Bristol is bulging (and Sarah is not) when there is no baby. Then in the photos where Bristol is seen holding the baby, the bulge has gone.

But even setting aside whose baby it is, this proves that Palin is just more of the same "Do as we say not as we do" leadership that we have suffered under for decades. Palin preaches abstinence for all, yet cannot enforce it within her own family. And if Palin cannot manage her own family, she is unable to manage a state, let alone a nation.
