The fighting between Georgia and Russia has resulted in a serious political crisis in U.S.-Russian relations. It seems as if both sides have gone back to the sharp Cold War rhetoric of the early 1980s.
American Scofflaw
That is, of course, the whole point; to get back to those "Happy Days" when the US Government only had to wave Russians at Americans to get the people to do as they were told, pay the taxes they were told, send their children off to die where told. The Cold War fossils in power and desperate to revive that old US-Russia animosity because they really believe the American people will fall for it all over again.
