Maid Owes IRS $80, Gets $122,783.51 Refund Check

A new law just passed in Massachusetts imposes fines of up to $1000 per day and up to a 30 day jail sentence for not obeying authorities during a public health emergency. So if you are instructed to take the swine flu vaccine in Massachusetts and you refuse, you could be facing fines that will bankrupt you and a prison sentence on top of that.

If you have not realized it yet, the controversy over swine flu vaccinations is about to get very, very real. The authorities know that a lot of people are extremely concerned about the safety of the swine flu vaccine, and they are putting the infrastructure in place to deal with those dissenters.

Let us hope that the worst case scenario with the swine flu does not take place, but the reality is that health authorities across the United States are gearing up for the biggest vaccination campaign in the nation's history. It looks like this fall could be very, very interesting.

11,000 veterans who had colonoscopies at U.S. Veterans Affairs hospitals may have been exposed to hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV.

The veterans were advised equipment used during their treatment was not sterilized. Of those so far that responded by having follow-up blood checks, 8 have tested positive for HIV. Twelve of the veterans have tested positive for hepatitis B, and 37 have tested positive for hepatitis C.

This week it was learned a 55-year-old North Miami man, Juan Rivera, a thirteen-year Army veteran with a wife and 5 children, filed notice last month that he will sue the Federal Government claiming he was infected with HIV during a colonoscopy at the Miami Veterans Administration hospital. He had a colonoscopy at the hospital in May last year.

Rivera is suing the government for $20 million.
On March 28, the VA department wrote to more than 3,000 veterans who had colonoscopies at the Miami VA hospital advising them that improperly cleaned equipment might have exposed them to hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV.

VA officials say endoscopy equipment was rinsed instead of being sterilizing as was required by the manufacturer's directions.

Similar problems were uncovered at VA hospitals in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Augusta, Ga. The total number of veterans subsequently blew out to more than 11,000.

Following congressional inquiries, Miami VA hospital director Mary Berrocal disciplined up to 10 employees.

I kid you not. This is the reasoning used by the FBI. The cops need automatic weapons to respond if the city falls victim to a Mumbai-like terror attack. It’s more likely Boston will get hit by a hurricane, but you don’t see the government building levees and boarding up windows. A terror attack launched against Boston figures pretty low on the probability chart.

“Warren Bamford, the special agent in charge of the FBI in Boston, said Tuesday that he is baffled by opposition to a proposal to give some neighborhood police officers the semiautomatic weapons,” reports the Associated Press. “In May, Boston Mayor Tom Menino criticized a proposal to arm up to 200 officers with M-16s that the police department had ordered from the U.S. military. Menino said only specially trained units should have the guns.”

Menino, after all, has to face the wrath of citizens who will naturally resent the cops walking around as if Boston is Baghdad.

The FBI is merely playing its assigned role. From the Pentagon to the Department of Homeland Security to the FBI, the government is on the fast track to turn the country into a police state from sea to shining sea. A major part of that effort is the militarization of the police, a process already well along.

Let’s hand it to Boston Mayor Tom Menino — he didn’t buy into the FBI’s malarkey about a terrorist event that will probably never happen.

A Philadelphia man who was Tasered during a traffic stop Friday after he and his female companion allegedly assaulted state troopers, died from unknown causes Sunday morning at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.

The circumstances of Hakim Jackson's death are being investigated by the state police.

The Delaware County Medical Examiner's Office, which was to conduct an autopsy yesterday, did not answer phone calls or return messages.

Jackson, 31, was the passenger in a car driven by Ashley McDaniel, 21, of Elkton, Md., that was pulled over about 5:20 p.m. on Interstate 95 South, in Tinicum Township, for tinted window and other violations, police said.

When the car was stopped, both occupants appeared nervous and gave false identification, police said.

McDaniel was asked to step out of the car. While Trooper Joseph Yingling was speaking with Jackson through the passenger window, Jackson climbed in the driver's seat and put the vehicle in gear, court documents said.

In response, Yingling reached through the passenger window and pulled the keys out of the ignition. But while he was doing that, Jackson punched him repeatedly in the head, leading Yingling to Taser him, court documents said.

The second officer on the scene, Trooper Michael McKeon, then tried to remove Jackson through the driver side door of the car, but Jackson, who had just been Tasered, jumped into the back seat, fled out a rear door and ran into the John Heinz Wildlife Refuge, the affidavit said.

During Jackson's escape, McDaniel allegedly jumped on McKeon's back and began to assault him.

When back-up officers arrived, three troopers, including McKeon and Yingling, chased Jackson into the Wildlife Refuge and after about a mile, arrested him in a "thick swamp," police said.

Both troopers were treated at Crozer-Chester - McKeon for heat exhaustion and a cut to his hand, and Yingling for facial wounds and a cut on his hand that required seven stitches.

Jackson also was taken to Crozer-Chester, though the extent of his injuries was unclear, police said.

McDaniel was charged with aggravated assault on police, hindering apprehension, resisting arrest, driving under a suspended license and related offenses. She remains in the Delaware County Prison on $50,000 bail.

Investigations revealed that Jackson had drug distribution warrants out for his arrest from the state parole board, West Chester and Philadelphia, police said.

In many ways, San Francisco is one of the most overrated cities in the country. There are homeless everywhere. Just a couple of blocks from the San Francisco Hilton and the Parc 55 Hotel is the Tenderloin District. It looks like a bombed out third world country. There are homeless everywhere, many walking around, half naked, stoned out of their minds.

This morning I am in a Starbucks near the Palace Hotel, sipping some green tea. One of the Starbucks' employees comes up to me and says, "Be very careful with your laptop, don't even leave it unguarded for a second." I look up, on my right are two women sitting on a couch, the employee goes over and tells the women the same thing with regard to their purses. Then I notice that in the next chair over is a guy sitting without any Starbucks coffee, or anything else Starbucks, and he looks like a mugger, if I have ever seen one.

Then there are a man and a woman in the next two chairs who appear to be tourists. The next chair from there? Another guy who looks like a mugger. This guy is hardened. He has a very tough face. The kind of face you get only by spending serious time in the slammer. I wonder if he is one of the 20,000 inmates being released from California prisons because of mismanagement of the budget by Arnold "If My Bodyguards Let Me" Schwarzenegger. Released early or not, this is not the type of guy I would want to meet late at night on a dark street, or apparently mid-morning in a Starbucks.

What's amazing is that these two mugger types aren' t even hiding the fact of what they appear to be in the Starbucks for. They are both just keeping their eyes on the purses.

The Strabucks' employee next went to the tourist couple and started to give the same warning when she notices a homeless looking guy stealing one of the pre-packaged sandwiches. He bolts out the door with the sandwich. She gives chase after him, but he is too fast for her. He's down the street, long gone with his lunch.

This is surreal. You have not lived until you have experienced this in person. The obvious question is, "Why don't they just kick out these two purse snatcher types?" They aren't buying anything. Obama's mantra of, "It's not the neighborly thing to do," comes to mind. But when your neighbor is an interloper ready to pounce on your purse or laptop, I think it is okay to boot these guys out on their butt--with a shotgun in your hand.

I really fear that this delusional city is becoming a potential model for the rest of the country, under Obamarule.

And, I really think they should change the song about losing a heart in San Francisco. There are plenty of bleeding hearts all over the damn place, what they have lost is their minds.

The Pentagon has approached Congress to grant the Secretary of Defense the authority to post almost 400,000 military personnel throughout the United States in times of emergency, a major disaster or popular uprising.

This request has already occasioned a dispute with the nation’s governors. And it raises the prospect of U.S. military personnel patrolling the streets of the United States, in conflict with the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878.

In June, the U.S. Northern Command distributed a “Congressional Fact Sheet” entitled “Legislative Proposal for Activation of Federal Reserve Forces for Disasters.” That proposal would amend current law, thereby “authorizing the Secretary of Defense to order any unit or member of the Army Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Navy Reserve, and the Marine Corps Reserve, to active duty for a major disaster or emergency.”

Taken together, these reserve units would amount to “more than 379,000 military personnel in thousands of communities across the United States,” explained

Paul Stockton, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and America’s Security Affairs, in a letter to the National Governors Association, dated July 20.

The governors were not happy about this proposal, since they want to maintain control of their own National Guard forces, as well as military personnel acting in a domestic capacity in their states.

“We are concerned that the legislative proposal you discuss in your letter would invite confusion on critical command and control issues,” Governor James H. Douglas of Vermont and Governor Joe Manchin III of West Virginia, the president and vice president of the governors’ association, wrote in a letter back to Stockton on August 7. The governors asserted that they “must have tactical control over all . . . active duty and reserve military forces engaged in domestic operations within the governor’s state or territory.”

An Israeli defense official believes Tel Aviv must rush to carry out a military strike against Iran's nuclear facilities even without US approval, a report says.

As long as the US remained a strong military supporter of Israel, Israel could attack their neighbors pretty much with impunity.

But Israel recognizes what we already know; that the US Government could collapse like the USSR within the next few months. Absent American tax dollars and American children forced to die killing Israel's enemies, Israel would have to conduct its own wars. And while Israel is effective against Palestinian families carrying white flags, against a modern well-equipped and highly motivated fighting force such as Iran, Israel stands little chance.

The reality is bleak; Israel's dreams of an "Eratz Israel" reaching from the Nile to the Euphrates, dies with the US Government.

The reason Bolton has been getting so much "page/web/face time is that John has never met a potential US military conflict he hasn't just loved; particularly when that conflict may well pit the US against any one of Israel's many existential threat, like Iraq, and now... Iran.

Of course, John's never seen a day of warfare up close in his life; he's an attorney whose bio indicates a series of jobs in and around Washington DC.

Most people who have actually seen combat, up close and personal, are generally not so deeply in love with war as the ultimate solution for everything as Bolton appears to be.

The drumbeats for war against Iran are beating faster and faster, with Obama and Gates haven been given their marching orders from Tel Aviv recently in a series of meetings there and in Washington.

Obama has indicated now that Iran has only until the end of September to acquiesce to his demands. After that time frame, we could well see an "October Surprise" in the form of an Israeli-led/US-supported attack against Iran.

Another IRS employee is in trouble, the third one this month alone.

First, there was the case of Edith Squillace, an IRS "contact representative" indicted by a federal grand jury on charges that she tried to back out of repaying a loan by threatening to have her benefactor audited.

Then, IRS revenue officer Mark Claybrooks was indicted by the feds for allegedly urging people who owed taxes to refinance with a mortgage company for which he worked. From 2003 to 2005, Claybrooks, who worked for the IRS in Walnut Creek, was also employed by Faith Mortgage Group in Antioch, refinancing personal-residence loans. Claybrooks received more than $20,000 from Faith Mortgage in exchange for referring at least two people to Faith Mortgage, the indictment said. Claybrooks pleaded not guilty Thursday.

Now, Willie Wilcox, an IRS revenue officer in San Rafael who also worked for Faith Mortgage, is accused of divulging information he had obtained "in the course of his employment and official duties" to at least two people, according to court documents recently filed in U.S. District Court in Oakland.

Wilcox is facing only a misdemeanor charge of "disclosure of confidential information," while the two others are facing felonies.

Tel Aviv Has Given Washington Its Marching Orders

The reason we are looking at a 60 day time cap on potential US engagement though dialogue is that Tel Aviv has given Washington its marching orders as to precisely when an attack against Iran will begin.

Sanctions are not going to work, as certain countries, such as Russia, will ignore them with impunity. There is no chance in hell that the UN will approve of more severe sanctions, as Russia and China will veto them.

We may we well be looking at some kind kind of "October Surprise", involving some kind of military campaign that would be a joint US/Israeli strike. The US and Israeli military are profoundly integrated at every level, as current joint exercises recently in Nevada have demonstrated.

Russian diplomats have warned both the US and Russia that such an attack against Iran will be the trigger for WW3.

Unfortunately, the collective hubris in Tel Aviv and Washington may just make that so.

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman may soon face criminal charges, as the National Fraud Unit recommended Sunday he be indicted for fraud, bribery, fraudulently obtaining benefits, money laundering and breach of trust.

The National Fraud Unit also alleges that the foreign minister attempted to obstruct the investigation and badgered a witness, and plans to ask charges of obstruction of justice and witness harassment be added to any future indictment.

Memo to Tim Geithner: I know all about taxing the middle class. I just raised the Massachusetts sales tax 25% and now everyone is shopping in New Hampshire. If, sir, in fact, you are looking at more taxes for the middle class, what We the People are looking at is the new "taxation without representation", the fundamental reason American colonists risked all to break from Britain, and found a new nation.

This and the previous administrations borrowed this country into a huge hole to fund these continuing wars without end: no one asked me how the devil they were going to pay for it. I mightily disapprove of the wars and the spending for these wars. However, of course, I was no match for the huge contractors (for whom congressional representatives are merely "acquisitions"), with their fat no-bid contracts who have made out - literally - like bandits from these wars.

And frankly, sir, I do not have one more dollar - one more cent - to spend on a government which has turned its back on its people.

Congress has become absolutely useless in representing the will of the people they allegedly represent; they are simply the acquisitions of the large corporations which have "purchased" them through overt and covert contributions to their campaigns to keep them in power.

This and the previous administration have bailed out their cronies in the banking industry to the tune of trillions of taxpayer dollars.

So, Mr. Geithner, if you believe for one millisecond that the American people are going to continue to fork over their very hard-earned dollars to a government which has, for all intents and purposes, thrown We the People under a bus, you may be in for some very interesting surprises.

Those who do not understand the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them.

With the US military stressed almost to the breaking point with current commitments around the globe, one has to wonder where these additional troops will come from.

And if you think that the reinstitution of the draft would never happen under this President's watch, think again.

The sheer muscularity of Obama's foreign policy objectives may well make it impossible for him to achieve them without this happening.

You cannot win a ground war from the air; there should have been a bitter but crucial lesson from the Viet Nam War for US civilian and military leadership on that, but it has, apparently gone unlearned.

In another article on Afghanistan from the GLOBE AND MAIL, it is reported that "Tens of thousands more U.S. soldiers may soon be needed in Afghanistan to quell the raging Taliban insurgency, top American generals are preparing to tell President Barack Obama."

However, just where these troops are supposed to come from appears to be a big unknown.

One has to wonder if a draft will be reinstituted in this country to even begin to come up with the numbers potentially necessary to do the job.

The old Soviet Union couldn't "pacify" this area with 500,000 pairs of boots on the ground.

And the reasons the old Soviet Union was in Afghanistan are, essentially, the same reasons the US and NATO are there right now: the installation of pipelines, to control Eurasia's oil, and protect the drug trade, from which so many profit so handsomely.

We are coming, at some point to a "Saigon moment" in Kabul; the only question is when, and how many more American, Afghan, and NATO lives will be lost to this military misadventure. And the most ghastly reality about this war was that the Bush/Cheney administration decided that this war would be "cheaper" than actually paying the Taliban the price they demanded for the pipelines in August of 2001.

I want Bush and Cheney to go on national television, and make that decision perfectly clear to the moms, dads, kids, relatives and friends of our Vets who have died, become permanently physically or psychologically maimed for life, committed horrendous acts of violence upon coming home, or committed suicide as a result of this war. For once in their wretched lives, they should tell the American people the truth.

And a small memo to SecDef Gates: I know of no thinking American who understands the geopolitical outcomes desired here, and supports the US presence in Afghanistan; not one, period, end of discussion.

I'll tell you what the problem is. Despite all the propaganda and censorship to isolate our kids in uniform from real news, those young men and women in uniform are smart enough to figure out that THEY ARE THE BAD GUYS IN THIS WAR.

Those soldiers are not defending America from a threat. It is America that is and has repeatedly invaded other nations to steal their resources. and this time, the kids in uniform know it.

This is now personal for me. We just received word that a family member has committed suicide following a tour in Iraq. And as much as I search the web, every article I see about the epidemic of military suicides only speaks of those that happen on the front lines. Nobody seems to want to look at what is happening to these people after they come back home, unless they start shooting at their neighbors.

What is the government doing to our young people?

And why will nobody try to stop it?
