General Hugh Shelton, who served as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1997 to 2001, called the Iraq war "unnecessary" and said that the Bush team went to war "based on a series of lies."
Shelton also said that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Deputy Secretary of State Paul Wolfowitz and other Pentagon officials pushed for war in Iraq "almost to the point of insubordination."
This is not some voice from the peanut gallery.The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs is - by law - the highest ranking military officer in the United States armed forces, and the principal military adviser to the President of the United States. The Chairman outranks all respective heads of each service branch, including the heads of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.

Is Unemployment as Bad as During the Great Depression?
It is difficult to compare current unemployment with that during the Great Depression. In the Depression, unemployment numbers weren't tracked very consistently, and the U-3 and U-6 statistics we use today weren't used back then. And statistical "adjustments" such as the "birth-death model" are being used today that weren't used in the 1930s.
But let's discuss the facts we do know.
The Wall Street Journal noted in July 2009:
The average length of unemployment is higher than it's been since government began tracking the data in 1948.
The job losses are also now equal to the net job gains over the previous nine years, making this the only recession since the Great Depression to wipe out all job growth from the previous expansion.

The austerity sharks are circling their wounded prey. The U.S. economy continues to collapse amid dwindling stimulus funds, while states are barely able to keep their heads above water.
In addition to cutting vital services to taxpayers, and seeking tax increases, some states are also selling off public assets in the politically acceptable name of privatization.
This mass looting is happening just below the surface where the public, buried by their own individual problems, can hardly tell that it is happening.

But there is no way the sellers of those mortgage-backed securities could make good on the over-subscription, so the only way for the scheme to work is for the housing market to be crashed, and all those mortgages foreclosed as quickly as possible to erase the paper trail that could land the fraudsters in jail!

Is this a trick question?
Everybody knows the rich are getting richer, but why they're getting richer remains something of a mystery. Is the system biased?
The shift of income to the top has occurred in the most prosperous English-speaking nations, such as Australia, Britain, and Canada. But it has been most pronounced in the United States.
Thirty years ago, the richest 1 percent of Americans got 9 percent of total national income. By 2007, they had 23 percent. Last year, new census data show, the rich-poor income gap was the widest on record.

Currency war is where countries compete against each other to achieve a relatively low exchange rate for their home currency, so as to help their domestic corporations.
Sadly, what that means for the people is imposed impoverishment, especially in countries dependent on imports.
ALL debt is unpayable. That is because we slave under a debt-based economy. The moment that first Federal Reserve Note went into circulation, more money was owed to the private central bank than actually exists.

This is just another propaganda trick to discourage people from communicating with each other; to trick Americans back into psychological dependency on ABCNNBBCBS.
But with 300 million angry Americans, it's not like there are enough Federal Agents to spy on us all. 99% of what gets posted to Facebook are clipping from other sources. There is simply too much information out there to correlate.
Are ALL Mortgage Backed Securities a Scam?

Apparently their are some who believe that Congress will actually pass a law sanctioning bank fraud. Senior CNBC editor John Carney has predicated that Congress will pass a bill in the lame duck session that would do just that:

A freeze is not enough
The homes which were taken from their owners through fraud must be restored immediately. The trillions in dollars looted from Americans through housing prices artificially inflated to increase banks' profits must be refunded at once.
And even that is not enough. The banks at the heart of this fraud are for the most part the same banks who were saved from their own greed and recklessness by trillions in taxpayer dollars.
These banks then turned around and looted those very same taxpayers, stealing their homes through fraud. I cannot think of a more onerous act by a banking industry that betrayed the public by stealing their homes through fraud, then demanding a second bailout, only to turn around and pay themselves Christmas bonuses amounting to 8% of the total cash supply in America!
The scandal of Foreclosuregate isn't that the mortgages and foreclosures are a fraud, but that the entire Federal Reserve Sytsem is a fraud!

To date, because Iran is a signatory to the NNPT, the IAEA inspections have revealed no diverted nuclear material, nor any nuclear weapons program in which the Iranians are engaging.
Israel, on the other hand, does have nuclear weapons, but refuses to become a signatory to the NNPT.

In the thirty years of Morningland Dairy operations NO ONE has become ill from consuming their products. Yet they have been ordered by the Missouri Milk Board to destroy ALL of their cheese without actual tests being performed on the cheese stock. This is nearly 50,000 pounds of cheese, or approximately $250,000.
Since the Milk Board and the FDA showed up at Morningland on August 26th, they have been “embargoed” from shipping or making any product. They dumped their milk for nearly six weeks before being approved to send it into homogenized, pasteurized distribution. All the while, they have had to pay the bill to keep the dairy and cheese plant operable
The administration doesn't give a flying Frisbee about the homeless
The activists say it is a crime that there are more vacant housing units in San Francisco than homeless people. They claimed in a press release that there were between 6,000 and 15,000 homeless people in The City last year, and that more than 36,000 units are currently vacant.
The police say this is nothing more than a routine event that "happens all the time", but if that's true then why does it never make the local papers? The homeless, the sick and the jobless are everywhere on the streets here; yet absolutely nothing is being done about it.

The Big Rip Off Settles In
Democrats in the Senate on Thursday held a recess hearing covering a taxpayer bailout of union pensions and a plan to seize private 401(k) plans to more “fairly” distribute taxpayer-funded pensions to everyone.
Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee heard from hand-picked witnesses advocating the infamous “Guaranteed Retirement Account” (GRA) authored by Theresa Guilarducci.
In a nutshell, under the GRA system government would seize private 401(k) accounts, setting up an additional 5% mandatory payroll tax to dole out a “fair” pension to everyone using that confiscated money coupled with the mandated contributions. This would, of course, be a sister government ponzi scheme working in tandem with Social Security, the primary purpose being to give big government politicians additional taxpayer funds to raid to pay for their out-of-control spending.
The real motive for forced water fluoridation?
And France is in the middle of the third National Strike in a month. Americans drink fluoridated water, ostensibly to fight tooth decay, even though simply drinking fluoride has no real effect on decay, indeed can actually harm teeth, and we all sit here unable to move, unable to find our rage as our lives are looted, docile, tranquil, paralyzed.
Other governments, including the USSR and Nazi Germany, added fluoride to drinking water to keep their populations under control. Is that the real motive for forced water fluoridation here in the USA, which was started in the 1940s after German research into its tranquilizing effects became known to the post-war US Government?

All these so-called "American Al Qaeda" who behave in a manner to provoke Americans into attacking Israel's enemies, are all fakes. I have no doubt that this latest phony will be exposed for who and what he is in the very near future.
The "pay as you go" approach
History has shown that economic stability comes from a "pay as you go" approach, but candidates get elected by promising to spend money they do not have to buy goodies for their supporters and dump the bill on a future generation that is larger, more productive, and can afford the payments.
And for almost 100 years the scam worked. But now we have reached a time when the next generation is smaller, the nation far less productive, the system floated along with printing-press notes, and nobody has real wealth to pay the accumulated bills.
The system is crashing, but nobody wants to be the one to have to stand in front of the TV cameras and admit the US Government has screwed the entire nation.

The New Credit-Card Tricks
“Card companies are figuring out how to replace old fees with new ones,” says Victor Stango, an associate economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and a professor at the University of California, Davis, who has been analyzing how the Card Act will affect consumer banking. “It’s a race between regulators writing ever-more-complex laws and credit-card companies setting up ever-more-complex fees.”
“If you have every major issuer saying that we are losing our shirt, then that speaks volumes,” Mr. Robertson says. “Proportionately, these fees should be understood as almost inconsequential compared to the losses.” So the banks are getting aggressive. According to a July 22 report from Pew Charitable Trusts, a nonpartisan research group, the industry’s median annual fee on bank credit cards jumped 18% to $59 between July 2009 and March 2010. At credit unions, annual fees soared 67% to $25. During the same period, the median cash-advance and balance-transfer fees jumped by 33%.

But in a growing number of cases, these real estate repo men are showing up before the foreclosure process is done – and sometimes, before a home is even in foreclosure.
Nancy Jacobini was alone in her Orlando home when she heard someone outside her door, trying to break in. She locked herself inside a bathroom and called 911.
"I was very scared," Jacobini said. "I didn't know who it was."
The man trying to break in was a contractor hired by Jacobini's bank, JPMorgan Chase, to secure the property. The bank initially said Jacobini was more than three months behind in her mortgage, and that she had abandoned her home and had cut her utilities.
Jacobini acknowledges she was late with her mortgage payments, but foreclosure proceedings had not begun. And, she added, "My electric is current, it always has been … I'm home all the time."
Jacobini's attorney, Matt Weidner, of St. Petersburg, Fla., said such "bank break-ins" represent yet another example of financial institutions "running amuck" as a consequence of the wave of foreclosures cresting across the country.
So why the UFO cover story?
Simple. America's self-image is in large part linked to the Apollo Moon program and America's achievements in space during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.
But the shuttle fleet is about to be retired after suffering a 40% loss rate, and the replacement shuttle, along with the return to the Moon, have been cut from NASA's budget by the Obama administration. Indeed NASA is but a thin shadow of its former self, like NOAA mostly used for propaganda value to support the push for a global carbon tax.
After the last shuttle flies, Americans will no longer be able to fly into space; our crews will have to hitch rides on other nations' rockets.
Now, this gets interesting.
The real videos of the China UFO (not the obvious fakes with disks and lights) clearly show an ultra-high atmospheric vehicle in operation, with at least a portion of the flight above the atmosphere.
Whether what was seen in the Chinese sky was the Shenlong, Hermez, or the "601" H-2, the message is clear. Whether weaponized or not, China's space program has jumped way beyond that of the United States.
Even if we avoid war with China, what remains of America's manufacturing is based on sales of weapons promoted as the most technologically advanced in the world. But that claim, and those sales, must crumble in the face of a clear demonstration that China is the new technological giant of the 21st Century!

Some top Federal Reserve officials have come up with a really bizarre proposal for stimulating the U.S. economy. As unbelievable as it sounds, what they actually propose to do is to purposely raise the rate of inflation so that Americans will stop saving so much money and will start spending wildly again.
The idea behind it is that if inflation rises a couple of percentage points, but consumers are only earning half a percent (or less) on their savings accounts, then there will be an incentive for consumers to spend that money as the value of it deteriorates sitting in the bank. Yes, that is how bizarre things have gotten

Elliot Doxer, 42, worked in Akamai's finance department in Massachusetts and was charged with one count of wire fraud for providing customers with lists, contract details and employee information. He sought $3,000 in return, prosecutors said.
In June 2006, Doxer emailed a foreign country's consulate in Boston with his offer to help. Papers filed with the court pointed at Israel, because at one point he identified himself as a Jewish American who wanted "to help our homeland and our war against our enemies."
A Justice Department spokeswoman declined to confirm or deny that it was Israel.

The orange feather existed for no other reason than to be plucked
Coco Chanel, before she became famous for perfumes, was a milliner. She made hats for the finest French High Society women. And Coco knew that her clients would never accept her hat designs without wanting to "tinker" to prove who was in charge.
So, before showing her hats to her clients, Coco would stick a bright orange feather into the middle of the hat. The client would come in and marvel at the hat, then explain that the orange feather just did not look right. Coco would smile and remove the offending feather and deliver the hat.
The client was happy for having control over the design while Coco was happy because the hat was being worn as she intended it to be. In other words, the orange feather existed for no other reason than to be removed to make the client happy. It did not actually change anything.
So, we come to this bill, H.R. 3808, which sailed through Congress without any debate at all, clearly an onerous piece of abusive legislation that did indeed arouse the public anger... as it may have been planned to do.
Because now Obama has, just before the election, a bright orange feather he can pluck out and discard before the eyes of the voting public, to reassure the gullible that they have the "semblance" of control of what goes on.
More of the Same old Scam
This is becoming a consistent pattern in the US. Pacific Gas and Electric got a rate increase approved because they needed to make repairs on the gas lines, only they took the money and didn't make the repairs and San Bruno blew up.
This is more of the same. The phone companies got a rate increase back in 1991 to pay for system upgrades to support broadband, but they took the money and made only token improvements here and there while the rest of the world surged ahead.
So, broadband in the US is like our medical care; the most expensive in the world, and lagging in quality.
I'm not peeing down your leg: it's raining
If ever there was legislation passed to absolutely cement the reality that Congress has utterly zero interest in serving the needs of We the People, and only serves the interests of those large corporations which have acquired them, it is this legislation.
And the passage and signing of this legislation, just at the moment when it has surfaced that people have been foreclosed on without proper documentation, is Congress's way of spitting, collectively, on the American people, and telling them it's raining; in other words, Congress believes itself no longer answerable to their electorate, but only to the companies which own them and dictate the legislation they pass.
Shades of Jonathan Pollard
An Akamai Technologies staffer was arrested Wednesday and charged with wire fraud after he provided confidential business information to an undercover federal agent that he believed to be working for an unnamed foreign government.
Elliot Doxer was charged in federal court here Wednesday in a case that began in June 2006, when the 42-year-old employee in the finance department of the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Internet content delivery company sent an e-mail to the consulate of a country referred to only as "country X" in the criminal complaint. In that e-mail, he expressed his desire to help that country with whatever information he could obtain in his position, which he acknowledged was limited to "invoicing and customer contact information."
The charge of wire fraud is based on the allegations that Doxer made his offer via e-mail, and engaged in a scheme to defraud his employer of confidential and proprietary information for which he later allegedly solicited payment.
The foreign consulate that Doxer contacted turned his e-mail over to law enforcement authorities, and a little over a year later, he was contacted by an FBI agent posing as a representative of "country X." Over the next 18 months, Doxer left confidential business information such as customer lists and contracts at a designated spot called a dead drop, acts captured via video surveillance.
The FBI agent's affidavit that accompanies the criminal complaint paints a picture of a man motivated less by greed -- he asked his "handler" at various times for a few thousand dollars in compensation for his trouble -- than by a desire to help the foreign country. He also seemed preoccupied with ill will toward his ex-wife, writing at one point that "not enough bad things can happen to her if you know what I mean." And he offered to drop his request for monetary compensation in return for information or pictures of his son.
Akamai has been cooperating with the FBI over a period of time on the investigation and will continue to cooperate, said Jeff Young, the company's senior director of corporate communications. Young stressed that there is no evidence that Doxer disclosed any of the information that's referenced in the complaint to anyone outside of law enforcement. He called Doxer a junior Akamai employee.
Doxer could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

If countries were rated on how tough it is to fight wars on their soil, Afghanistan would come close to the top of the list.
Landlocked, with an extreme climate and paralyzing dust storms, it’s also bordered by dizzying mountains and safe highways are sparse.
That’s why escalating militant attacks on NATO fuel trucks heading from Pakistan to Afghanistan — the most recent on Monday — are a sign that the war against the Taliban is limping badly, if not hobbled. And they show the scarcity of supply line options may be a decisive factor in how and when the conflict concludes.
“The U.S. has tried to develop the northern distribution system, but the heavy duty supplies still have to go through Pakistan,” says Shuja Nawaz, director of the Atlantic Council’s South Asia Center in Washington. “Given the short timetable the coalition is operating on, the chances of finding an alternative are dim.”
Between 75 and 80 per cent of NATO supplies are trucked from the Pakistani port of Karachi through the forbidding Khyber Pass and into Afghanistan. The most crucial is fuel. But they include vital items from water to weapons.
The pass has been shut down several times, and after a helicopter fired on and killed three Pakistani frontier troops last week Pakistan blocked the supply lines. It had complained earlier of similar cross-border attacks.
For NATO, the route has been dogged by years of mayhem and uncertainty.

After the economy slipped into recession in 2008, millions of Americans received unemployment benefits to make ends meet -- including almost 3,000 millionaires.
According to IRS data, 2,840 households reporting at least $1 million in income on their tax returns that year also collected a total of $18.6 million in jobless aid. They included 806 taxpayers with incomes over $2 million and 17 with incomes in excess of $10 million. In all, multimillionaires reported receiving $5.2 million in jobless benefits. ...
We Don't Know Anything About it, Okay?
Most people probably assume that their doctors know everything there is to know about health because, after all, they went through many years of medical school. But according to a recent New York Times piece written by a doctor, most medical schools teach few, if any, courses in nutrition, and most students graduate and become doctors with no sense of how nutrition plays a vital role in maintaining good health.
Even though most of the chronic diseases people face are related to poor diet, medical school training focuses largely on drugs, surgical procedures and other reactionary interventions instead. In fact, some medical schools do not even teach a single course in nutrition.
Back in the mid-1980s, the National Academy of Sciences published a report about the lack of nutrition education in medical schools, and advised that such schools begin offering at least 25 hours in nutrition education to their students. But a recent study published in Academic Medicine, a Journal of the Association of American Medical College, reveals that conditions have either remained unchanged or actually gotten worse.
"Nutrition is really a core component of modern medical practice," emphasized Kelly M. Adams, registered dietitian at UNC and lead author of the study. "[Students] aren't getting enough [nutrition] instruction while in medical school."
What Business is it of Yours?
Bloomberg tells us that the feds want to keep track of all money transfers into and out of the US:
Financial institutions have long been required to report all cash transactions, whether domestic or overseas, exceeding $10,000 as well as transactions that they deem to be suspicious. The proposed regulations would expand the requirements so that banks would have to report all cross-border transfers of any size, whether or not cash is involved. (For money-transfer businesses, the threshold would be $1,000 as opposed to that at banks, which would report all amounts.)

Why do you ask, do you have something to hide?
The feds say they are preventing terrorism and money laundering. What they are really doing is gaining power. It can’t be too much longer before you need permission to send money overseas. And then, the “rich” will be fitted with the equivalent of an electronic ankle bracelet…to monitor their financial movements and prevent them from getting away with anything.
But wait. Are we becoming paranoid? Are we having a bad dream? Are we “losing it”?
Maybe. But soon, finances could be a matter of US national security. And transferring money out of the country, unauthorized, could be a crime.
The zombies are counting on your money. They won’t give it up without a fight.
