Israel wants war with Iran, but they do not want to get their own nose bloody, and why should they when they have red-blooded American boys and girls to die for a lie?

If the goal for provoking a confrontation in Georgia was to blockade Russia from being able to support and supply Iran by ground, it only works if the Georgian conflict can be sustained for as much time as it takes to invade Iran.

But it looks like Russia, not content with simply responding to the shelling of their peacekeepers may simply push right through to the Armenian border and re-absorb Georgia, Ossetia, and Abkhazia into the Russian Republics. And it may happen so fast that the US cannot intervene.

This will have two results.

The first is that Russia will have unimpeded access to Iran, which bodes ill for the planned USreal invasion.

The second is that the central Asian republics now know that the US talks tough but cannot actually protect them from Russia, even in wars intentionally provoked by the US and its ally Israel. As a result, Russian influence in that region will greatly increase.
