Police said a man suspected of burglarizing cars in Mar Vista was shot in the face by a resident early this morning.
The circumstances of the confrontation at 2 a.m. near Venice Boulevard and Beethoven Street remain unknown, according to a spokeswoman with the LAPD.
Police said the wounded 23-year-old was taken to the hospital, but his condition was unavailable.
It was unclear if the shooter was arrested.
