U.S. intelligence officials are asking for quick congressional action to extend a sweeping but controversial U.S. electronic surveillance law.Officials from US intelligence agencies argue that if the law, which expires at the end of this year, is not extended, U.S. spy agencies would lose access to a "very, very important source of valuable intelligence information."But at the same time, some people are complaining the violation of civil liberties, such as the inadvertently gathered intelligence about U.S. citizens.
