Whether this is simply public posturing by the Obama administration (possibly to lull Iran into a false sense of security) remains to be seen.
The US still has 9,000 troops deployed to Israel right now, along with 15,000 troops stationed in Kuwait.
The US Army Chief of Staff, General Martin Dempsey, is scheduled to arrive in Tel Aviv for talks with his counterpart, Israeli Defense Minister Barak on Thursday, 19 January, and the IAEA is supposed to inspect the Iranian nuclear facilities on Saturday, 28 January.
Every time Ron Paul scores another victory, Israel pushes harder for war with Iran and the US backs off. WE are seeing signs of factionalization both pro and con within the upper ranks of the US and Israeli Governemnts!!!!!
I have to wonder if someone in the Obama administration "blinked", not believing they could sell this in an election year, or if Israel is trying to lull the Iranian leadership into a false sense of security?!?
Is this the real reason Vice-Premier Ya'alon was whining about the US not ratcheting up sanctions against Iran quickly enough?
