Did you hear the one about the Jewish guy that sells ties in the desert?

Here is how it goes:

A Taliban militant gets lost and is wandering around the desert looking for water. He finally arrives at a store run by a Jew and asks for water. The Jewish vendor tells him he doesn’t have any water but can gladly sell him a tie. The Taliban, the jokes goes on, begins to curse and yell at the Jewish storeowner. The Jew, unmoved, offers the rude militant an idea: Beyond the hill, there is a restaurant; they can sell you water. The Taliban keeps cursing and finally leaves toward the hill. An hour later he’s back at the tie store. He walks in and tells the merchant: “Your brother tells me I need a tie to get into the restaurant.”

The US Tax Payer just got "paid back" with their own money!

GM is putting out commercials and press releases about paying back their "loan" from the US Tax Payer. The only thing is they are full of lies!

GM gets the vast majority of their BAIL OUT converted into an "investment" by the government (a.k.a. The US Tax Payer) and then uses that money to pay off the remaining loan portion.

The US Tax Payer just got "paid back" with their own money! And the vast majority of the bail out got converted into an "investment" so they DON'T HAVE PAY IT BACK!!!

And these rich fat cats complain social programs?!?! What the hell are these corporations getting? Free Tax Payer money and they barely pay any taxes!!!

Outspoken Israeli-born critic of Israel Gilad Atzmon put it bluntly in the title of his March 25 Internet essay: “Judea Declares War on Obama.” Atzmon—whose candor is unswerving—was referring to the recent avalanche of bitter commentary unleashed at Barack Obama by powerful international Jewish organizations that perceive the president’s Middle East policies to be less than supportive of the demands of Israel and the Jewish lobby in America.

While Israeli immigrant Orly Taitz—a hardline Arab- and Muslim-basher—beats the bushes in public forums all across America, questioning the legitimacy of Obama’s citizenship and thus the very constitutional legitimacy of Obama’s occupation of the White House itself, her ideological allies, at the higher levels—an amazing array of big-name Jewish leaders and organizations— have been openly damning the president in unprecedented terms.

Leading the pack, predictably, was the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), which conjured up a letter, signed by 76 members of the Senate and 333 members of the House, ordering the president and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to be more accommodating to Israel.

AIPAC—like other Jewish lobby voices—believes the president and Clinton are doing damage to the so-called “special relationship” between the United States and Israel.

Among other things—and at the focus of controversy between the Obama administration and Israel—the Jewish lobby groups uniformly condemn the Obama administration’s open criticisms of Israel for working to expand the Jewish population of Jerusalem, which is a Holy City not only to Jews but to Christians and Muslims. In general, however, the Jewish lobby perceives Obama as the grand wizard behind a concerted reassessment (even redirection) of long-standing U.S. favoritism for Israel.

Netanyahu knows, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the US and Israel cannot get sanctions from the UN; Russia and China will block this.

So the only thing left is multilateral sanctions, which will inevitably lead to war.

Of course, should Russia and China, both nuclear armed countries, decide to join the fray on the side of Iran, those "unintended consequences" Mike Mullen discussed might well come to ugly fruition.

Of course, Israeli leadership doesn't care if the US were to become totally devastated as a consequence of initating an attack against Iran.

If the US and/or Israel go ahead with this attack against a member of the NNPT which is doing nothing to violate their right to use atomic energy for peaceful purposes, here will be the consequences:

A regional confrontation may well go global, with Russia and China joining the fray to defend Iran.

If we somehow dodge the bullet of a global confrontation, it will make all other members of the NNPT realize that membership is no guarantee against being attacked by the US, and will withdraw their membership immediately, realizing that it is of no use or protection at all.

There will be a mad, global scramble for acquisitions of nuclear weapons as deterrents, because an attack against Iran will have absolutely have impressed upon these nations as to what happens to countries which do not have nuclear weapons, and are attempting to develop their nuclear capabilities by the book.

What began as a bit of political theater in an election year to give the Democrats an edge going into November may well blow up in all their faces as international lawsuits pile up against Goldman and reveal that fraud has become the business model for Wall Street as a whole.

Far from being seen as the savior to rush in and rescue America, DC is rightly seen as complicit going all the way back to the repeal of Glass-Steagal which set the stage for the financial ruin of millions of Americans.

The SEC, the same SEC that sat still for 12 years while Bernie Madoff-with-the-loot savaged his investors for $65 billion now wishes to be seen as a bunch of heroic firefighters, daring the smoke and flames as it busts into the disaster with axes and pours water all over the burning furniture. But SEC forgets that We The People paid them not to wait until the fire could no longer be ignored, but to have prevented the fire in the first place. Thus, the current lawsuit against Goldman Sachs is seen as not a stunning success just ahead of the elections, but a reminder of what the SEC failed to do ten years ago when the damage was still negligible.

In their rush to save us all from carbon dioxide the Federal Government has failed to save us from the human sharks that swim among us and imagine that the gods they hallucinate about set us all upon the Earth to be their helpless prey. Like the police, the Feds show up after the crime has been committed ans the damage done, stand around in their pretty printed jackets, and try to look as good as they can for the cameras.

But the fact is that Goldman Sachs, and Bernie Madoff, and Stanford, Ken Lay, etc. etc. etc. got away with what they got away with because the US Federal Government utterly failed in its primary duty to protect the public, then looted the public to make up the losses when the various schemes started to fall apart. The profits made by Goldman Sachs represent the proceeds from criminal activity, and it therefore follows that when Congress voted through TARP and the other bailouts despite overwhelming public opposition, that Congress aided and abetted those crimes.

Remember how they laughed when they looted America to save their own portfolios?

Remember how I kept saying that the incredible earnings of Wall Street just did not make sense in a nation that had lost substantial portions of its productivity? As Germany, Lehman, etc. all pile on with lawsuits against Goldman, the real nature of Wall Street will be exposed not only to Americans but to the world. The whole mess will come crashing down and far from being seen as the hero trying to save the situation, the Federal Government will be seen as the Captain of a Titanic they stood by and allowed to be steered into the rocks.
