Does anyone here comprehend what the future would be like had we taken that $14 trillion poured over Wall Street to save them from the derivatives disaster of their own making and instead spent it on research into new technology, new products, and new industry? We would have Thorium reactors, photonics, fusion both hot and cold, cheap desalinization, hydrogen technology, Maglevs, SSTs; in short a clean 21st Century world and a non-petroleum energy base. We would not have to wage world wars over oil and water.
But apparently in the eyes of the US Government, still mired in the mindset of the mid-20th Century, your money and future indebtedness were better spent keeping billionaires in their mansions, instead of throwing them in jail with Bernie Madoff-with-the-loot!
