Here we see the downside of globalism.
National borders serve the same function for Earth that fireproof doors do in a building and watertight hatches do on a ship. They contain an accident so that the whole structure is not threatened.
The globalists propped open the fireproof doors and welded open the watertight hatches, and yes, things move faster without having to bother with all those latches and handles. But now there is a fire (or flooding) and nothing stands in the way of the entire building burning down (or the ship sinking).
And yet every suggested fix for the problem in the media is a call for more globalism, which is like claiming that more ice will save the Titanic.
Globalism sounds nice in the sales brochure, until you remember that globalism was the goal of Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, Caesar, Napoleon, and Hitler.
