This is starting to smell like these recent cases where the hedge fund managers, even after conviction, are allowed to walk around free (and escape) by the courts.

Of course, I understand why the US Government is trying to find a way to let these guys go. This espionage case gets very close to the lies used to start the war in Iraq, and of course, to 9-11 itself.

Maybe, The US Government can let them escape to Israel where there is no extradition treaty and everyone can forget about this trial once and for all.
